Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has great potential for use and generation, taking into account the technological progress of recent decades, but also the implementation of concepts such as obsolescence. Due to various obstacles in its management, various problems associated with its components (materials, chemical substances, among others) have been evidenced, which represent a risk to human health and the planet. In this case, the circular economy in the LAC region has a great application opportunity to guarantee a correct cycle closure for this type of materials and elements, in order to reduce the generation of waste, but also to start generating new business models and ecodesign among the different countries according to their strengths.
