Rebecca is an Environmental and Occupational Health Specialist focusing on children’s environmental health, public health, management of hazardous chemicals in products, exposure assessment, chemical risk assessment and management, risk communication, development of intervention strategies and sustainable development goals. She has a special interest in capacity building and knowledge management within the areas of her expertise. She has over six years of experience in curriculum development, innovative course design, delivery and assessment, training development and facilitation in a traditional face-to-face classroom, online space and blended-learning environments in the higher education landscape. Rebecca currently teaches and co-convenes a Children’s Environmental Health masters course, an online Postgraduate Diploma in Pesticide Risk Management programme and a Professional Masters in Chemicals Risk Management at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Her research interests include toxic chemicals in childcare products and toys, exposure assessment, and chemical risk reduction approach.
