Under the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead Paint, the United Nations Environment Programme has developed draft Lead Paint Law Compliance and Enforcement Guidance in collaboration with a working group comprised of government, industry, and civil society partners of the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead Paint.

The draft Guidance outlines actions to advance lead paint law compliance and enforcement.  It describes key elements of compliance and enforcement strategies for government officials and provides examples, including from countries that have enacted lead paint laws.  The draft Guidance also provides examples of actions paint manufacturers and importers can take to demonstrate compliance.

UNEP is providing the draft Guidance for public consultation and is seeking feedback from interested stakeholders. The draft Guidance can be accessed here. Inputs can be shared by filling out the comment template and sending it back to [email protected] by May 10.

For any questions, please contact UNEP at [email protected].
