The Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead Paint is working to achieve the phase-out of the manufacture, sale and import of paints containing lead through the establishment of laws. World Environment Day took place on 5 June 2020 and the theme this year was biodiversity. SAICM celebrated by creating an infographic on how chemicals and waste can impact biodiversity and releasing an article on how we can do more to protect and help our planet's biodiversity flourish.

As there is an increase in communication of concrete recommendations for better solutions and alternatives to build a better economy that protects nature, there is an increased need to back these recommendations with facts and figures about how they contribute to reduce our impact on the planet.In this sense, the life cycle team has pulled together a very simple 2-page guidance on elements to consider when backing up your recommendations with strong life-cycle based science.
