Fifth Meeting of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5)
The ICCM was originally scheduled to take place in October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fifth Session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) was rescheduled to take place from 5-9 July 2021. In February 2021, it was postponed indefinitely. In August 2022, countries were advised to get prepared for the third quarter of 2023. The conference will now convene from 25-29 September 2023 at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany.

ICCM5 Preparations: Strengthening reporting and capacity building for the implementation of the beyond 2020 framework instrument
Following approval of the SAICM Programme of Work for the period 2021-2023, the SAICM Secretariat initiated a process to explore options to develop a capacity-building strategy that will support the implementation of the new framework instrument for the sound management of chemicals. As a result, participants at ICCM5 will have before them two information documents (SAICM/ICCM.5/INF/3 and SAICM/ICCM.5/INF/5) which aim to inform discussion on the issue of capacity-building at ICCM5, and support the development of such a strategy following adoption
