The 14th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant (ICMGP 2019) will convene on the theme, ‘Bridging Knowledge on Global Mercury with Environmental Responsibility, Human Welfare and Policy Response’. The meeting will seek to assess implementation of solutions to reduce the emissions and exposure to mercury as a global environmental pollutant and test the efficiency of implementation of the Minamata Convention in various parts of the world. The workshop provided an overview of the Lead Paint Alliance recommended actions and available advice to support the establishment of lead paint laws in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. The third meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) for the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) took place from 2-4 April 2019, in Montevideo, Uruguay. The functions of the OEWG are to consider the implementation, development and enhancement of SAICM, including by: Reviewing and prioritizing proposals for emerging policy issues in preparation of the next session of the Conference; Continuing discussion on work on emerging policy issues; Considering proposals for the inclusion of new activities in the Global
