The ICCM was originally scheduled to take place in October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fifth Session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) was rescheduled to take place from 5-9 July 2021. In February 2021, it was postponed indefinitely. In August 2022, countries were advised to get prepared for the third quarter of 2023. The conference will now convene from 25-29 September 2023 at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany.
The second meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment (Plastic Pollution INC-2), will take place in May 2023 in Paris, France.
