The fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment (Plastic Pollution INC-4), will take place in early April 2024 in Canada. This meeting is being held pursuant to the resolution adopted by the resumed fifth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-5.2), which requests the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Executive Director to convene an INC to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution
The workshop provided an overview of the Lead Paint Alliance recommended actions and available advice to support the establishment of lead paint laws in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Participants were representatives from the Peruvian, Ecuadorian and Colombian government, as well as industry representatives. It also raises awareness on the draft technical guidelines on paint reformulation and the new trend in the industry among selected small and medium-sized enterprises representatives.
